We are thrilled to report that GATX Rail Europe has been awarded the EcoVadis Silver Medal! EcoVadis is the world’s largest and most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings. They evaluate companies based on a long list of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability features, such as the dedication level to relevant workplace issues, training on health and safety, environmentally conscious assessments, and comprehensive policies on ethics.

EcoVadis’ review of GATX Rail Europe included our four main subsidiaries. Our scores were in the highest percentile among businesses that rent and lease machinery, equipment, and tangible goods, and we demonstrated strengths in four main assessment categories: environment, labor & human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.

We are proud of these results, and as Nicolai Ullrich, QM & Organizational Development Manager at GATX Rail Europe and project lead for the EcoVadis assessment application said, “this process is not a sprint, it’s a marathon. We are already preparing for follow-ups and are eager to continue making progress in the areas of CSR and sustainability.”
