At GATX Rail Europe, we’re committed to supporting our team members’ health and well-being. Our recent Health Days, held across our main offices in Austria, Germany, and Poland, reflect our dedication to proactive health management—empowering employees with preventive care, knowledge, and tools to prioritize their wellness.
A Comprehensive Approach to Workplace Wellness
The Health Days brought together GATX employees for a variety of health screenings, consultations, and wellness activities. Occupational health physicians led the initiative in our offices, providing confidential consultations, various diagnostic tests, and practical health advice. Employees had access to comprehensive screenings, including cardiovascular checks, respiratory tests, and even ergonomic assessments designed to improve workplace comfort and posture. To further support employees, we offered discussions on vaccination options and immunity as well as the opportunity to practice AED use for emergency readiness.
Building a Culture of Accessible Health Care
Heiko Thöle, Occupational Health and Safety Manager at GATX Rail Europe said, “Our goal was to create an event that makes routine health exams easily accessible for all our colleagues. Let’s face it—many of us feel ‘too busy’ or simply don’t take the time to prioritize these essential appointments.” By creating spaces for health-focused events like Health Days, GATX aims to foster a culture of well-being and safety across all our European locations.
Many employees expressed appreciation for GATX’s commitment to making health and wellness accessible in the workplace.
Check out the photos from the events, which capture the vibrant, engaged atmosphere and our team enthusiasm for embracing healthful practices. We look forward to continuing this journey toward a healthier workplace for all.
