GATX Rail Europe offers career growth opportunities in sustainable transport as we welcome new talents to our internship program.
Over the years, we have expanded on our commitment to proactive and thorough employee & intern training in stimulating real-life environments. One of our top priorities is to work with young professionals who share our values and passion for making railcar leasing easier for our international customers while providing safe and quality services.
We are happy to match you with the sector that inspires you the most! Your personal investment and unique perspectives are the motor of our company’s ingenuity. In turn, we empower interns and will match their dedication and values! We strive for the right balance between management oversight and leaving space for their independence, curiosity and creativity. This is why GATX fully supports and fosters interns’ development by immersing them in the complexities of everyday business challenges while bringing their experience and knowledge to the next level.
“We aim to create win-win situations,” said Anna Macidlowska, Chief Human Resources Officer. “Exposing junior level employees to first-hand practical field experiences not only generates skilled workers with invaluable competences, but also fuels a creative company culture and pleasant working environment. And to GATX Rail Europe, good workplace vibes matter.”
We are happy to share the successful story of Greanny Vivas’ training experience as Sales, Business Development and Marketing Intern in Austria. Greanny relocated from Venezuela to Vienna to get her Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Sales at the University of Applied Sciences in Wiener Neustadt, Austria. She was immediately enthusiastic about the internship opportunity offered by Elisabeth Jilli, Business Unit Manager, linked to a GATX business case presented during her lecture at a Sales Management course. Greanny mastered the provided business case best and got the internship. She started her internship in February and continued to contribute to our projects until mid-May while working and supporting three different areas: Sales, Business Development and Marketing.
She enthusiastically said, “I am very happy! It doesn’t feel like I am an intern, but a fully valued team member with ideas, responsibility, and recognition while I’m also gaining a good growth experience.” Elisabeth and other colleagues confirm that Greanny is very proactive and committed, contributing to making offers happen at GATX while getting to know the different regional teams and supporting sales activities in agent countries.
Hands-on activities are part of our training DNA. True to our employer values, Greanny had the opportunity to participate and contribute to two projects aiming to speed up the offering process, and she has brought her quality testing skills and quickly became part of the team. Upon the completion of her internship, Greanny looks forward to the finalization of her Bachelor’s exam exploring the adoption of music streaming services. After graduation, she will start looking for a job. Asked if GATX is a workplace she would like return to, she quickly replied, “I would love to stay! So let’s see what the future holds.”
