The end of the year is getting close – and with it the Christmas holidays. We at GATX wish our customers, partners and all interested parties wonderful, relaxing holidays and a very happy New Year.
2017 was again a full year of growth for GATX and its 210 employees! To this end we have continued to invest – for example, in the further rejuvenation and diversification of our fleet. In the process, our focus was on the expansion of the non-tank fleet because there is a rapidly increasing demand in this sector.
Outlook 2018: Digitalization and service as opportunities
In order to set ourselves still further apart from the competition, we have willingly accepted the challenge of digitalization. Here the focus is on the expansion of the services offered to our customers: Our range of telematics systems and an uncomplicated, paperless exchange of data with our partners make the everyday work life of our customers easier – every day and at many locations throughout Europe. And in many practical training sessions we have trained our own employees, our customers and the users of our wagons in detail.
As you can see: We are excellently positioned for 2018 and can continue to grow and develop further jointly with our customers and partners. We are very much looking forward to it!
Instead of presents: Donations to children’s aid organizations
The GATX team has also made donations again this year: A significant amount of money has been donated to different children’s aid organizations throughout Europe. To this end we are again dispensing with Christmas presents. We are confident that in doing so we have acted in accordance with your wishes.
We thank you for the trust you place in us and wish you a peaceful Christmas,
The GATX Rail Europe Management Board
