Following a thorough tour of our Ostroda railcar workshop for key client and energy giant TotalEnergies this summer, TotalEnergies responded by inviting GATX Rail Europe to visit the Usine de Gonfreville— one of the biggest European refineries—located in Gonfreville-l’Orcher. The visit marked an important moment for both companies as we discussed the opportunity for further sustainable rail transport collaboration.

Our teams presented the most recent and innovative gas car models alongside railcar training opportunities for TotalEnergies’s operators.

The GATX Rail Europe Workshop team, GATX Rail France team, and expert engineer Roman Grünhagen were among the participants who visited the refinery and who received a detailed demonstration of its operations.

“This visit reaffirms our intent to work together toward the successful rail transport undertakings together with TotalEnergies,” said Kalina Staneva, Key-Account Manager at GATX Rail Europe, and added that “I am happy we took the time to meet, as such occasions are essential for brainstorming and learning more about our customer’s specific needs.”
