GATX Rail Europe (GRE) is closely monitoring COVID-19 developments and challenges. Solving these challenges, together with you, is a critically important initiative for GRE and remains a top priority.
The current situation naturally affects our employees, customers, suppliers and workshops. For this reason, it is important for us to consider each of these stakeholders. A few of our manufacturers as well as some third-party workshops are informing us that they are either reducing their business activities or temporarily closing down.
As a result, we are unable to carry out some workshop activity as originally planned. Also, some newly produced wagons either cannot be finished resulting from undelivered components or cannot be transferred due to cross-border transport constraints. We are examining all possibilities to limit such delays and continuously seek alternative solutions to ensure effective business operations under the given circumstances.
At this time, all GRE employees are working from home, with the exception being those critical workers at our Ostroda, Poland workshop. We are currently keeping this workshop functional to ensure continued operations. The Ostroda workshop is following stringent safety conditions to keep our employees safe without compromising our high-quality work.
Please know that your contact person(s) will continue to be available to you. Of course, we will coordinate every single case individually to best serve your specific needs. We are committed to finding solutions in collaboration with you; our aim is to continue to provide excellent service.
