GATX colleages came from across Europe to gather in Ostróda for our in-house School Days, diving deep into the core of our railcar operations. At this annual event stretching over four days, participants engaged in a mix of theoretical and hands-on sessions designed to enhance their understanding and expertise.
Safety and Cleanliness
The event began with a strong focus on safety protocols, ensuring that everyone was well-versed in how to operate our railcar fleet, which encompasses more than 220 different wagon types. UIP Cleanliness standards were also a key topic, with participants learning both the theory and how to determine the correct cleanliness degree in practice. A highlight was the unique experience of exploring a tank car from the inside to practice under real conditions.
Operational Insights
Groups rotated through various modules, gaining valuable insights into key processes and freight railcar handling for our oil, chemical, LPG, and freight fleet. These hands-on sessions provided practical, real-world experience under the guidance of our expert trainers, reinforcing important operational practices.
The event concluded with feedback and reflections, allowing participants to share their takeaways and suggest improvements for next year. These School Days not only deepened technical knowledge but also strengthened bonds within our team so we can deliver our promise to make railcarleasing easier, while setting the stage for future innovation.
