Hamburg, 1 February 2022: GATX Rail Europe announced today that it will welcome Mr. Rafał Stańczyk as the Head of Workshop Management Europe starting March 1 in Warsaw, Poland.

Leading up to this current appointment, Rafal’s professional path includes experiences in the railway, safety, and transport industry, dating back to 2004. His work endeavors include the organization of railway transport, finding engineering solutions for railway vehicles, leading the innovation and digitization of railway vehicles, and being up-to-date on the railway sector’s current laws and regulations. Prior to starting his new role at GATX Rail Europe, Rafal was the Sales Manager for Eastern Europe at Railpool. He has also worked at Angel Trains / Alpha Trains Locomotives, progressing from a string of positions starting as Fleet Technician all the way to becoming the Head of an Electric Locomotive Fleet.

As GATX Rail Europe’s new Head of Workshop Management, Rafal’s key responsibilities will include defining a European strategy for technical operations to assure sufficient, quality, cost-efficient workshop capacities and responsibility for the quality, timely, and safe execution of the GATX fleet’s planned maintenance procedures.

Rafal will also act as a key representative of GATX Rail Europe in the industry via various associations and working groups, thus having a direct impact on the development of the Company’s maintenance guides and on helping to make railcar leasing easier.
