Corporate social responsibility is important to us as a company and to our colleagues. In many ways, big and small, have we engaged in initiatives aimed at making a positive impact on society and the environment. Our recent endeavors include participating in charity business runs in various locations, purchasing green tickets for the Transport Logistic fair, hosting a family day in Poland, and extending support to Sternenbrücke, a renowned children’s hospice in Hamburg.
Business Runs Promote Social Causes
Our colleagues from our GATX Rail Europe Dusseldorf, Vienna, and Warsaw offices recently participated in a series of business runs, underscoring their commitment to various social causes. In Dusseldorf, our colleagues joined the B2B run promoting a healthy lifestyle and a connected business world; in Vienna, a group of us joined the Wings for Life Run supporting research to cure spinal cord injuries; and in Poland, a large team run at the Bieg Firmowy in support of the Fundacja Everest little heroes.
Green Tickets for Transport Logistic
As part of our eco-conscious approach, GATX Rail Europe made a significant contribution by purchasing GoGreen tickets for the renowned industry fair in Munich. Understanding that CO2 emissions were generated during the journey to the fair, GATX opted to contribute to the effort to counteract by purchasing GoGreen tickets. By choosing environmentally friendly ticket options, GATX supports high-quality myclimate carbon offset projects. In the meantime, we are also repurposing and recycling large parts of our exhibition booth.
Family Day in Poland
Inviting our partners and children to be part of our work world is a great feeling. We got to connect in a more personal way at our Warsaw location, inviting our partners and kids to the Stacja Muzeum and giving them an insight into our railway world, which was especially fascinating for the little ones. We’re planning to extend the family days to other locations next year.
Donations for Sternenbrücke
During our summer festival in 2019, our employees collected donations for Sternenbrücke, a children’s hospice in Hamburg, for the first time. The amount our team raised this year was generously matched by our management, which greatly motivated our teams and helped establish a strong foundation for our partnership, where some of our colleagues also donate their time to support.
To celebrate our successes and connect with one another we have also hosted a series of summer get-togethers in our GATX Rail Europe locations in Hamburg, Vienna, and Warsaw. Also, a special highlight took place recently on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) – where our CEO Johann Feindert joined our GATX Corporate team to ring the closing bell for GATX’s 125th anniversary – a journey we’re proud to join and carry on globally.
