Recently in Linz, our Freight Business Unit jump started the year with the handover of 30 new 9435 Type Shimmns to our valued customer, Logistik Service GmbH (LogServ). Our dedicated teams have put their expertise to good use by making railcar leasing easier for LogServ, renewing this collaborative relationship with another long-term contract.

Why is the 9435 Type Shimmns important?
Excellent for the transport of moisture-sensitive steel coils, the 4-axle Shimmns car type has a sliding tarpaulin cover as well as one fundamental feature: a quickly adjustable, laterally operated spindle drive, which allows for the coils’ variable fixation. This gives our clients the ability to safely secure the coils. The new Shimmns are also equipped with our latest telematics and sensor solutions allowing for GPS and location tracking as well as Geofencing and alerts to optimize transport management.
